- Shabbat morning service featuring Noah’s Bar Mitzvah – This Saturday, 16th November starting 11am at the Redmond Community Centre
For our Shabbat service on this Saturday we have another Bar Mitzvah! Please contact Ashleigh the Administrator if you are able to come a little earlier or stay later to help us set up and clear the Hall. Noah and his family would like to invite members and friends of Kehillah to a celebratiory Kiddush and lunch provided by Noah’s Family after the service. Please note that this is not at our usual venue but instead at the Redmond Community Centre, Kayani Ave, Woodberry Down, London N4 2HF.
- December Adult Education – 3rd-17th December – Booking opening soon
Adult Education will now run Tuesdays 3rd-17th December and booking will be opening shortly. This 3-week block run by Cantor Tamara will be a Shabbat Song Share Boot Camp! We will cover the melodies we know and love to sing on Shabbat, as well as some lesser-known or new-to-us favourites. This series will explore the link between melodies and the meaning of their texts, and what the Torah of music can teach us about our Shabbat prayers.
- New Cheder sessions in January for children aged 10 and over and those nearing B’nai Mitzvah age.
At the request of community cheder parents, we are looking to start a series of weekly cheder sessions starting in January during the school term. Tthis would be in addition to our regular cheder during Shabbat Morning services and is for children over 10 years of age. We would encourage in particular those nearing their Bar/Bat Mitzvah to attend though these sessions are in addition to private Bar/Bat mitzvah tuition.
We are planning a structure for weekly, 2-hour sessions: the first hour covering Hebrew and second covering Jewish learning. We are planning 5 consecutive sessions on various Jewish related topics, before breaking for a week for half-term. We would then continue for 2 sessions around Purim in order to explore liberation and to create a corresponding spiel to be performed at our community Purim service.
We are looking to start this course on the week of January 11th. We are planning to choosing a day of the week when as many as possible who are interested have availability. Please email Omar for further information and to let us know what days of the week are convenient: firstname.lastname@example.org.
