For our Shabbat service on 16th November we have another Bar Mitzvah! Noah and his family would like to invite members and friends of Kehillah to his Bar Mitzvah service taking place at the Redmond Community Centre, Kayani Ave, Woodberry Down, London N4 2HF. Further details to follow shortly

  • New Cheder sessions in January for children aged 10 and over and those nearing B’nai Mitzvah age.

At the request of community cheder parents, we are looking to start a series of weekly cheder sessions starting in January during the school term. Tthis would be in addition to our regular cheder during Shabbat Morning services and is for children over 10 years of age. We would encourage in particular those nearing their Bar/Bat Mitzvah to attend though these sessions are in addition to private Bar/Bat mitzvah tuition.

We are planning a structure for weekly, 2-hour sessions: the first hour covering Hebrew and second covering Jewish learning. We are planning 5 consecutive sessions on various Jewish related topics, before breaking for a week for half-term. We would then continue for 2 sessions around Purim in order to explore liberation and to create a corresponding spiel to be performed at our community Purim service.

We are looking to start this course on the week of January 11th. We are planning to choosing a day of the week when as many as possible who are interested have availability. Please email Omar for further information and to let us know what days of the week are convenient: omar@kehillah.org.uk.

  • Adult Education

    3rd March 2020 @ 7:00 pm8:30 pm

This four-week block of adult education is called “Trans-formations: The multiple genders of the Talmud”. As our society explores new and varied concepts of gender and transgender identity, this four-week course will introduce key texts in Rabbinic literature – the Tosefta and the Talmud – which discuss intersex, gender-indeterminate and gender-nonconforming bodies and their halachic status. What space do our texts create for trans, non-binary and queer people today?
