Elul study session – The New Year for the Animals: Grounding Ourselves within Creation, 17th August – 8pm-9:30pm
Celebrate a different Jewish New Year: Rosh Hashanah La’Behemah – the New Year for the Animals with trainee Rabbi, Kohenet Yael Tischler at St. Mary’s Centre We will begin preparations for our own New Year by grounding ourselves as one of many species in the created world. We will study Perek Shirah, a Jewish text that imagines that every living being has a song of its own. We will sing the songs of the Universe as imagined by Perek Shirah, and begin our annual period of reflection by meditating on our existence as part of the great tapestry of the natural world. The evening will be songful, soulful, thoughtful and playful.

High Holiday booking open for members. Non-member booking opens 1st September.
Kehillah members and Supporting Friends are now able to book for our ticketed High Holiday services and events (i.e. Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur services & our Rosh Hashanah community lunch), which are all taking place at St. Mary’s. Due to more limited space at High Holidays this year, along with a growing number of people wanting to attend, we are opening advanced bookings to members as first priority. We encourage our members (and Supporting Friends) to book before 1st September, when we will be opening bookings up to our non-members, where we have capacity. If we are not fully booked or where we have been notified of cancellations, we will allow members & non-members to come along on the day. However, we would advise those wanting to turn up on the day to arrive at least 20 mins before the start of services.

The Honeycomb Project
Liberal Judaism and Movement for Reform Judaism are very excited to be partnering with Stories for Life, giving community members the opportunity to record their life stories and memories for their loved ones. Stories for Life connects people with trained biographers to tell their life story which will be audio recorded and processed by a professional audio engineer. The recordings are for personal use only, and will not be saved by any of the organisations connected to this project. As a charity, this service is offered free of charge by Stories for Life. For more information and to register to have your story recorded see the Stories for Life website below. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Rabbi Eryn, Honeycomb Project Manager.
