This Year's Tzedakah Appeal - Sistah Space & Kehillah
This year we’re raising money for Sistah Space, as well as raising money to help grow and sustain Kehillah throughout the year. Donations to Kehillah allow us to offer more, as well as being able to subsidise membership and events for those members and friends who may have financial difficulties.
Sistah Space is a locally based Hackney charity that supports women, primarily of African heritage, who have experienced domestic abuse. Sistah Space provide advice, advocacy, support, and educational classes to women who have experienced abuse. Visit the Sistah Space website here
Sistah Space are having difficulties securing safe premises for their work. A letter organised by Jewish Solidarity Action has been compiled to be delivered to Hackney Council in support of Sistah Space finding safe premises.

Rabbi Leah & Rabbi Benji teaching online for Makor Hayim's "20 Minutes of Repentance"
Our own Rabbi Leah as well as her partner Rabbi Benji (Rabbi of Westminster Synagogue) will be teaching during '20 Minutes of Repentance' in September online at Makor Hayim congregation.
Rabbi Leah is teaching "How do we let go of grudges/long built-up-anger/pain toward someone close to us and what does the Torah have to say about it." on Wednesday 23rd September 8:30-9pm.
Rabbi Benji is teaching "Waiting (for God to do teshuvah) and maintaining hope. We will look at a short Rabbinic parable about waiting for god, considering for ourselves how to wait well, relate to the Divine and foster hope during these more distanced times." on Thursday 24th September 8:30-9pm
