  • Final Adult Education session in our current block on the multiple genders of the Talmud – concludes Tonight, Tuesday 24th March – 7pm

We are concluding our adult education series tonight. Please book and pay via our Adult Education booking form here (suggested donation per session £5). All who are signed up to the class by 5pm on 24th March will receive an emailed video link to access the virtual meeting room before it starts at 7pm. If you have not used Zoom previously, we recommend arriving early to allow us to make a prompt start.

These sessions will be led by Rabbi Mark L. Solomon. This four-week block, which runs every Tuesday until today, 24th March, is called “Trans-formations: The multiple genders of the Talmud”. As our society explores new and varied concepts of gender and transgender identity, this four-week course will introduce key texts in Rabbinic literature – the Tosefta and the Talmud – which discuss intersex, gender-indeterminate and gender-nonconforming bodies and their halachic status. What space do our texts create for trans, non-binary and queer people today?
