Can you Offer Spiritual Leadership to our Kehillah?
Part-Time vacancy for a Rabbi or Cantor (currently 0.33 FTE)
Kehillah North London is a warm, exciting, small and growing urban community based in Stoke Newington with members living mostly in Hackney, Haringey and Islington, and some who live further afield. We have a love of learning and we are known for our diversity.
Here you will find both deeply religious and deeply secular people (sometimes both at once!). Valuing relationships will be at the heart of your spiritual leadership: you will have the ability to get to know people, and to connect them to others in our community so that they feel at home. You will be able to listen to individual concerns and to be flexible enough in your ideas about your role and that of the Synagogue today to be able to learn from our membership and to create new ways of growing our community.
Service leading at Kehillah is shared with our ba’alei tefillah and supported by a team of wardens. We have a hard-working Management Committee and many of our members are active as co-ordinators, in sharing skills or knowledge and in many other ways. The role also includes overseeing the cheder, working with sessional and volunteer teachers and task-managing a part-time administrator.
We love our community and are looking for a rabbi or cantor who can partner with us to create and grow Jewish life in this part of north London.
You will have a recognised rabbinic ordination or cantorial ordination/investiture, and be eligible for full membership of Rabbinic Conference, Liberal Judaism.
To discuss this post in confidence, please contact Rabbi Shulamit Ambalu on 0207 403 3779 or Robin Samson, Chair of Kehillah North London, at kehillahjob [at] gmail.com.

Closing date for completed applications: 25 October 2017. It is expected that first stage interviews will take place on the evenings of 30 or 31 October or on Sunday 5 November.
Applicants are assured that this recruitment process is entirely confidential.
